the project:

-	performed for a leading plant breeding company

the goal:

-	identify alleles that influence harvest yield of a particular plant

the data:

-	240 datasets with given genotypes were supplied
-	every dataset contained one phenotype, coded as a real number
-	every dataset contained 1.500 alleles

the results:

-	1000 genes showed too little genetic variation and were eliminated
-	Matrix identified 4 alleles that predominately influence the yield
-	these alleles were not those that had the greatest frequency
-	predictive model was confirmed experimentally by plant breeding company
